By the end of this session, participants will have a clear action plan to confidently pitch their story to TV news outlets and maximize their chances of being featured.

Understanding newsworthiness for the TV - what you need to know - the "5 Ws" of news: who, what, when, where, why (and how).

Tying your story to a larger narrative:

  • Connecting your story to trending topics or breaking news.
  • Using seasonal events and awareness days.

3. Preparing for TV Media Success:

Building the perfect pitch:

  • How to structure a pitch and press email for TV producers.
  • Crafting an irresistible subject line.

Making it visual:

  • Preparing B-roll footage or visuals that appeal to TV news editors.
  • Tips for creating video-friendly events or demonstrations.
